Course Description: This course will provide all eligible students with the Neuhaus Education Center curriculum. The curriculum in the classroom is focused on multisensory and phonological awareness skills necessary to teach students in the areas of reading, writing, and spelling, in order to nurture a strong self-esteem. Developing Metacognitive Skills lessons are practiced daily.
Course Objectives: The curriculum is uniquely designed for a structured, sequential, multisensory and cumulative instruction. The instructional approaches are strategy-oriented instruction that students use for decoding, encoding, word recognition, fluency, and comprehension that students need to become independent readers. Classroom instruction is individualized instruction that meets the specific learning needs of each individual student in a small group setting.
Supplies Needed: Pocket folder, paper, pencil

Attendance: It is important for academic success to be present every day. It will be the student’s responsibility to communicate with all teachers about make-up assignments and due dates.
Grading Policy: District grading policy will be followed.

- Log in on time.
- Turn your camera on and keep it on during class.
- Mute your microphone unless it's your turn to speak.
- Raise your hand if you want to say something.
- Stay seated.
- Do not do other tasks or activities during instruction.
- Be prepared to participate.
